Quick answer: Add an eligible item to your AliExpress cart, go to checkout, open Promo codes (sometimes shown as Enter), paste the code and select Apply. Before paying, check that the intended discount appears in Saved or the order summary and that the final total actually went down. You can do this without placing an order.

On a phone, the promo-code control may be collapsed inside the checkout summary. The wording and position can change between the app, mobile browser and desktop site, but the important check is the same: an accepted code is not a saving until the checkout total reflects it.

Apply a promo code in five steps

  1. Set your delivery location. For a US-targeted offer, select a United States shipping address and check the currency shown in the offer. An item that is not available to your address cannot be used to test that order.
  2. Choose the exact listing and variant. Color, capacity, plug type and ship-from option can change price and eligibility. Add the item to your cart or choose Buy Now.
  3. Read the offer threshold. A “$8 off orders over $60” code does not mean every $60 cart qualifies. The checkout may count only eligible merchandise after other discounts; shipping and additional charges may not help you reach the minimum.
  4. Enter the code at checkout. Expand Promo codes / Enter, paste the code exactly as displayed, without spaces, and press Apply. If the coupon is one you collected earlier, also check the Saved section to see which discount is selected.
  5. Compare the final payable amount. Look at the discount line, shipping, taxes or other charges and the Total before selecting Place order. If AliExpress warns that switching to your code will remove a larger automatic coupon, keep the cheaper final total—not the bigger-looking code.

PMCODE tip: Take a screenshot of the checkout summary if you need to compare two offers. Record the exact variant and shipping destination as well; the product-page price alone is not the amount you will pay.

Where is the promo-code box on mobile?

Continue from the cart to the order confirmation screen and look near the price summary for Promo codes, Coupons or Enter. Tap that row to reveal the input. In some layouts, collected coupons are shown under Saved while a typed promo code has a separate input. If you cannot see the box, expand the order-summary rows before assuming the listing has no coupon support. Do not press Place order just to look for the field.

Visual guide (US checkout example). In this checkout example, 1 marks where to paste a promo code and 2 marks Apply. The field is empty here: a code counts only after AliExpress accepts it and the final payable total reflects the discount.

Check the selected coupon. In the Saved panel, the marked option is selected. That does not replace checking the order total: another discount may produce a lower final price. This historical screenshot is only a UI example.

Why did AliExpress reject my code?

“Eligible items total … below the minimum.” The subtotal displayed at the top of your cart may include items that do not participate in this coupon, or the qualifying amount may fall after other discounts. Check which items are marked coupon-applicable and whether the eligible merchandise amount still exceeds the offer threshold.

“Only applicable for new shoppers.” This is a first-order offer. A returning account cannot make it valid by changing products. Look for an offer that does not have a new-user restriction.

“Incorrect, inactive, or already used.” Recheck the exact characters, offer dates, account and region. Codes can also have limited redemptions. Do not treat a code listed on another coupon site as proof that it works for your order today.

The code was saved, but the price did not change. “Saved” can mean the coupon is in your account, not that it is the selected discount for this checkout. Open the savings breakdown and compare the total again. If AliExpress has automatically chosen a stronger coupon, changing it may make the order more expensive.

Is a coupon the same as a promo code?

No. A seller coupon, a multi-store coupon and a typed promo code can have different eligible products, thresholds and redemption rules. AliExpress may present them in nearby parts of checkout, which is why the labels are easy to mix up. Our US guide to AliExpress coupon types explains the differences. For offers currently displayed on PMCODE, use the AliExpress US promo-code page and check each offer's date and terms.

One-minute check before you pay

  • Is the correct US address, item variant and quantity selected?
  • Does the eligible item amount meet the code's threshold after other discounts?
  • Is the coupon actually selected, and did the payable total fall?
  • Are shipping, tax and any additional charges acceptable?

For an expensive order, also read the listing's delivery and return terms. Our US returns and refunds guide covers the order-level checks worth making before purchase.
