Short answer: AliExpress does not publish one platform-wide minimum dollar order for ordinary US purchases. You may be able to buy a single low-cost item, but a particular listing can sell a pack or require a quantity, a promo code can require a qualifying subtotal, and free shipping can have a separate threshold. Those are different rules, so check the exact product, offer and checkout before paying.

The phrase AliExpress minimum order can therefore refer to product quantity, promo-code spend or a free-shipping threshold. A cart can satisfy one requirement and still fail another.

Is there a universal AliExpress minimum order?

PMCODE did not find a current official AliExpress rule that sets one minimum dollar amount for every ordinary purchase in the United States. AliExpress's current Terms of Use describe the service as a marketplace where buyers and sellers conduct transactions, and they make the parties responsible for transaction terms including payment and shipping. The terms do not announce a sitewide $10, $15 or other minimum for every order.

A listing may represent one piece, a multi-pack, a lot or a bundle, and changing the variant can change the offer.

PMCODE has taken individual products to a US checkout, showing that some listings can be checked out separately. This applies only to those selected products and dates. Our five-product US checkout test explains the limits.

Minimum order value vs. minimum quantity

A minimum value is a dollar requirement. For example, a promotion might offer a discount only when the qualifying order passes a stated amount. A minimum quantity is about units: the listing may sell two pieces, a four-pack or a lot instead of one individual item.

Read the price unit and selected option together. A low displayed price may belong to an accessory, the least expensive variant or a unit inside a multi-item offer. Confirm the title, package contents, quantity box and cart details. If the page shows a pack or lot, a cart quantity of one may still mean several physical pieces.

AliExpress's public buyer terms do not provide a universal one-unit guarantee. The safe conclusion is narrower: use the exact listing as the source for quantity, and do not confuse a listing-level unit requirement with a platform-wide minimum order value.

Promo codes have their own minimum-spend requirements

AliExpress's official Bonuses Terms allow minimum-purchase requirements, promotion-specific rules and restrictions by region, product or shipping purpose. A genuine code can therefore be unavailable for a particular cart.

PMCODE's October 2026 checkout observations provide dated examples of explicit US thresholds:

Promo codeAdvertised discountMinimum eligible orderRecorded checkout observation
USHS02$2 off$15+$37.33 subtotal; $2 discount displayed
USHS23$23 off$169+$259.99 subtotal; $23 discount displayed
USHS55$55 off$379+$590.74 subtotal; $55 discount displayed
USHS70$70 off$499+$590.74 subtotal; $70 discount displayed

These codes were checked on October 1, 2026, on eligible United States carts. PMCODE stopped before placing the order. Four other USHS codes were also accepted on eligible high-value carts, but their exact subtotals were not recorded.

On October 3, all eight owner-supplied SAVING codes were accepted on an eligible US cart; all eight VUSHS codes were accepted on eligible US carts on October 4. No purchase was completed. These checks demonstrate explicit minimum-spend ladders, not permanent validity or universal eligibility. See the October 2026 US sale calendar for the dated campaign context.

Why a cart above the threshold may still not qualify

A cart total that looks high enough does not by itself prove the promotion's qualifying amount. AliExpress's official terms allow restrictions by product, region and shipping purpose, while the offer may add its own account, seller or campaign conditions.

  • Some products may be excluded. A mixed cart can include merchandise that the promotion does not cover.
  • The destination or account may not qualify. A code advertised for the United States may still be account- or campaign-specific.
  • The selected option may matter. Changing a variant, bundle, seller or ship-from location can change the offer represented in the cart.
  • The campaign may not be active. Bonus terms include validity periods, and unused value can expire.
  • The checkout calculation may differ from the headline cart number. AliExpress does not publish one universal public formula covering every promotion and every combination of product discounts, coins, shipping and tax.

If a $65 cart does not receive a “$9 off $65+” discount, first check whether the offer is active for the US account and whether the selected merchandise is eligible. Compare the threshold with the calculation shown after all cart changes. The promo-code troubleshooting guide covers broader failure cases.

Is there a minimum order for free shipping?

There is no single free-shipping threshold that can be applied to every AliExpress order. AliExpress's official Free Shipping Terms say the benefit applies to participating products and may require an order to reach a threshold displayed on the platform. The terms also state that the required threshold may vary and that shoppers should check the product page and checkout.

That means “minimum for free shipping” is not the same as “minimum to place an order.” You may be able to buy the item below the free-shipping threshold and pay a delivery fee, or the listing may show a different shipping method. What counts toward an AliExpress promo-code minimum?

The most defensible answer is: whatever the specific promotion and your checkout identify as qualifying. AliExpress's general Bonus Terms confirm that a prescribed minimum can exist, but the reviewed public rules do not provide one universal formula saying that shipping, sales tax, coins, seller discounts or every other checkout line always counts—or never counts—toward every campaign.

Do not add taxes or delivery charges to the merchandise subtotal and assume they repair a shortfall. Do not assume the original prices count after another discount changes the displayed calculation. Use the promotion wording and the final checkout result. If the rule is not disclosed clearly, describe it as unconfirmed rather than inventing an eligible-subtotal formula.

How to check the minimum before placing an order

Five checks before testing an AliExpress minimum-spend promotion at US checkout
Set the US destination, select the exact option, check the cart, enter the code and verify the discount before ordering.
  1. Set Ship to to the United States and use the real delivery ZIP code.
  2. Select the exact product, variant, pack size, seller and ship-from option.
  3. Confirm the unit quantity and the merchandise subtotal in the cart.
  4. Read the offer's region, dates, minimum purchase and product restrictions.
  5. Enter the promo code before payment and review the savings breakdown.
  6. Confirm that the named discount appears in the order summary.
  7. Recheck shipping and any separate charges, then stop before Place order if you are only testing eligibility.

For currently listed offers, use PMCODE's AliExpress US promo-code page as a starting point, then verify every condition in your own account and checkout.

Frequently asked questions

Does AliExpress have a $10 minimum order?

PMCODE did not find a current official rule creating a universal $10 minimum for every ordinary US order. A specific listing, promotion or shipping offer can still have its own requirement.

Can I buy just one item on AliExpress?

Some listings can be purchased as one selected unit, but “one” may mean one pack, lot or bundle. Check the unit label, package contents and quantity control for the exact variant.

Why does my promo code say the minimum spend was not reached?

The promotion may count only eligible products, or your account, region, seller, variant or campaign timing may not satisfy the offer. Compare the displayed threshold with the checkout result instead of relying only on the cart's headline total.

Does shipping count toward an AliExpress promo-code minimum?

AliExpress's general public Bonus Terms do not establish one universal rule for every campaign. Unless the specific offer says shipping counts, do not assume that it does.

Do taxes count toward the minimum?

The reviewed public rules do not provide a universal answer for every promotion. Treat tax as a separate checkout line unless the offer explicitly includes it in the qualifying calculation.

Can a seller require multiple units?

A listing can represent a pack, lot or multi-unit option. AliExpress's public buyer terms do not promise that every product is available as one physical piece, so the selected listing and quantity details control what you are ordering.

Sources and methodology

PMCODE separates official platform rules from its dated checkout observations. The official sources were checked on October 5, 2026:

The checkout examples came from owner-supplied PMCODE observations dated October 1, 3 and 4, 2026. No order was placed. Temporary codes are included only as examples of minimum-spend structures, not as promises that they remain active.
