Short answer: An AliExpress promo code can fail even when the code itself is real. For a US shopper, the fastest checks are the campaign dates, United States eligibility, the code's minimum spend, and whether every item in the cart qualifies. If AliExpress recognizes the code but does not apply the discount, the selected cart usually has not met one or more of the code's conditions.

Do not place an order just to test a code. Enter it before payment, confirm that the discount appears in the order summary, and stop before Place order if you are only troubleshooting.

AliExpress promo code troubleshooting checklist

  1. Set the delivery destination to the United States and use the real ZIP code.
  2. Read the code's start date, end date, region and minimum-order requirement.
  3. Check the eligible item subtotal, not just the cart's headline total.
  4. Confirm the exact product variant, seller and warehouse in the cart.
  5. Review automatic discounts, coupons and coins already shown in the order summary.
  6. Remove an item and add it again if the product or variant changed after the code was entered.
  7. Apply the code again and verify the discount before placing the order.

AliExpress's official Bonus Terms allow promotion-specific rules, including a minimum purchase, validity period, and restrictions by region, product or shipping purpose. The offer displayed in your account and checkout is therefore more important than a code copied from an old post.

1. The eligible subtotal is below the minimum spend

A code advertised as “$15 off $109” needs a qualifying order above the stated threshold. The important number may be the subtotal of eligible products after another discount has changed the calculation—not the original prices added together.

Compare the threshold with the amount that remains after changing quantity, removing an item, selecting a different variant or accepting an automatic discount. Do not assume shipping, sales tax or other charges count toward a product-spend requirement unless the promotion says so.

2. The code is for another country or region

Many AliExpress campaigns publish different code sets for different markets. A code found on an international coupon page can be genuine and still be unavailable to a United States account or delivery address.

Set Ship to to the United States before building the cart. USD alone does not prove that the destination is correct. If an item cannot be delivered, use PMCODE's US shipping availability checklist first.

3. One or more products are not eligible

A valid code may apply only to participating products or sellers. A mixed cart can cross the headline dollar threshold while its eligible items remain below it. The official AliExpress terms also allow bonuses to be unavailable for certain products or shipping purposes.

Try the expected qualifying product alone, then add other items back one at a time. Recheck the exact color, size, capacity, plug, bundle, seller and Ship from option. Another variant can be a different offer on the same page.

4. The promotion has not started or has ended

Campaign codes have validity periods. AliExpress's Bonus Terms state that unused promotional value is no longer valid after the listed period ends. A code can also be visible during a warm-up period but unavailable until the sale actually begins.

Check the stated time zone as well as the date. PMCODE's October 2026 US sale calendar, for example, records campaign windows in Pacific Time where that is how AliExpress supplied them. For an evergreen check, rely on the current campaign page or the terms shown with the offer rather than an undated social post.

5. The account is not eligible

Some offers are limited to particular users, such as new shoppers, selected accounts or members who received a specific benefit. Seeing the same code on another account does not prove that it is available on yours.

Use the account that will place the order and read the eligibility wording. Do not create misleading details or change the delivery address to force a code.

6. Another discount is being selected instead

AliExpress may show automatic savings, seller discounts, coins, coupons or a promo code in the same checkout. However, PMCODE did not find a current official US rule that supports one universal application order for every campaign. Do not assume every discount can stack or that entering a second code will add to the first.

Open the savings breakdown and note which discount is displayed. If a code replaces another benefit, compare the final amount due. PMCODE's US checkout test explains why the combined Saved number alone does not prove a particular code was used.

7. The subtotal changed after another discount or cart edit

A cart can qualify at one moment and fall below the threshold after an item is removed, a quantity changes or another saving reduces the eligible calculation. A product can also become unavailable or switch warehouse when its variant changes.

After any cart edit, apply the promo code again and re-read the complete order summary. If the final total includes a separate fee, see PMCODE's guide to AliExpress Additional charges. A shipping or tax line does not repair an ineligible product subtotal.

8. AliExpress recognizes the code, but this cart does not qualify

This is different from a code that is mistyped, inactive or outside its validity period. In PMCODE checkout observations, AliExpress could recognize a promo code while the selected items still failed an eligibility condition. Recognition establishes that the system knows the code; it does not establish that every product, seller, account or cart can use it.

“Invalid or expired” versus “recognized but not eligible”

  • Invalid or expired: first check spelling, capitalization and campaign dates. The code may not exist in the current context or may be outside its validity period.
  • Recognized but not eligible: recheck region, account, participating items and the qualifying subtotal. The code can be genuine while this cart fails its conditions.

AliExpress wording can change, so use the explanation shown in your own checkout instead of matching it to a screenshot word for word.

What PMCODE's October checkout test established

PMCODE checkout-tested all eight USHS codes on October 1, 2026. AliExpress recognized each code and displayed the advertised discount on an eligible U.S. cart. No order was placed.

The recorded examples included USHS02 on a $37.33 subtotal with a $2 discount, USHS23 on $259.99 with $23 off, USHS55 on $590.74 with $55 off, and USHS70 on $590.74 with $70 off. USHS04, USHS09, USHS15 and USHS35 were also accepted on eligible high-value carts, but PMCODE did not record an exact subtotal for those four checks.

These are dated checkout observations, not promises of permanent availability. They do not prove that the codes will apply to every account or item, and no completed purchase was used as evidence. See the campaign record for the original October context, or visit PMCODE's current AliExpress promo-code page for newer offers.

How to test an AliExpress code safely

  1. Use the real US destination and select the exact product variants you intend to buy.
  2. Check the campaign dates, regional wording and minimum spend.
  3. Enter the code in the promo-code field before payment.
  4. Confirm that the named discount appears in the checkout summary.
  5. Review shipping and any separate charges, then compare the final total.
  6. Stop before Place order unless you genuinely want to complete the purchase.

If you are still checking whether the products themselves can reach your address, read how AliExpress shipping to the USA works before testing another code.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my AliExpress promo code say the minimum spend is not met?

The qualifying amount can be lower than the cart total if some products are excluded or another discount changes the eligible calculation. Compare the stated threshold with the eligible items after all cart changes.

Can a valid AliExpress code fail on one item?

Yes. Official terms allow product, regional and shipping restrictions. Try the item by itself and verify the exact seller and variant.

Can I use two AliExpress promo codes together?

Do not assume so. The specific campaign rules and your checkout determine which benefits apply. Compare the final total after each code rather than expecting universal stacking.

Does free shipping count toward the minimum spend?

Free shipping is a delivery benefit, not product value. Unless the specific promotion explicitly says otherwise, do not count shipping, tax or additional charges toward a product-spend threshold.

Should I place an order to see whether a code works?

No. You can verify whether the discount appears before pressing Place order. Only complete the order if you intend to buy.
