AliExpress is giving frequent shoppers a new reason to check their accounts before the holiday sales. Its October 15 announcement introduces Elite: free, invitation-only membership, applied automatically and displayed in the app. For US readers, the first question is where it works.

Who qualifies for Elite?

The stated requirements are over $800 in spending, or local equivalent, plus orders on at least five separate days during the previous 12 months.

Both conditions matter. Spending $900 across two shopping days would miss the frequency requirement; spending $700 across six days would miss the dollar threshold. Those are illustrations of the announced rule, not examples of accounts PMCODE has tested.

Before counting yourself in, check the status shown in your own account. The release leaves questions about canceled orders, refunds and currency conversion unanswered. There is little sense in buying something unwanted just to chase a membership invitation: the extra purchase could easily cost more than a later discount saves.

5% normally, 8% on Elite Day

Eligible Elite-labelled items get an additional 5% discount. On Elite Day, the first day of each month, the advertised rate is 8%. Participating items span Brand+, Choice and Local+.

Read those figures separately; there is no basis here for advertising 13% off. As a simple illustration, applying 5% to an eligible $100 amount would save $5; applying 8% would save $8. That arithmetic does not establish how AliExpress calculates a particular order.

The useful check is the selected item's price in the order summary. A collection name alone should not substitute for checking the actual benefit. For a clearer distinction between discount types, see PMCODE's AliExpress coupon guide.

The return footnote matters

The announced return benefit covers eligible products within 15 days of delivery; the no-additional-evidence provision specifically concerns quality issues submitted within that window. Dedicated customer service is also promised.

That distinction matters if an item is faulty versus simply no longer wanted. Do not read the benefit as permission to skip the return process or ignore the order's instructions. It is still sensible to keep the order details and a record of the problem. The announcement offers no response-time commitment for the service team.

US shoppers should consult the separate US returns and refunds guide rather than importing a European membership benefit into their own order.

Seven named markets, with US access unconfirmed

AliExpress names Germany, the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Poland and the Netherlands. The United States is not named; US availability remains unconfirmed as of October 18.

These are the markets identified in the announcement, not a prediction of every future rollout. An international headline or a US-dollar qualification figure does not establish American eligibility. US readers can use the October sale calendar for US shoppers for separate regional context.

What changes for 11.11?

AliExpress says Elite discounts can accompany eligible 11.11 sale prices, November 1–18. Separately, participating products gain standard next-day delivery in multiple French, Spanish and Polish cities; this is not described as Elite-exclusive.

A membership discount over a sale price does not settle whether a particular coupon also combines with it. For a planned purchase, compare the same variant, destination, shipping and final total. That gives a more useful answer than multiplying every advertised saving together.

PMCODE has not tested Elite firsthand. Check the official announcement and your account's current terms before relying on a benefit, especially where caps, exclusions or promotion timing are not explained in the release.
