AliexpressThe selected variant is the black MAONO PD100X with a desktop stand and no boom arm. It is a dynamic cardioid microphone designed for computer-based USB use or connection through XLR equipment. The selected-option image shows the microphone, desktop base and a cable. A boom arm is a separate bundle.
Connectivity and controls
USB connects directly to a compatible computer. In USB mode, the microphone supports 24-bit/48kHz audio, headphone monitoring, mute, gain control, monitor control, and configurable RGB. The headphone jack lets you connect your own headphones to monitor the input while recording.
XLR is available when the microphone is used with a suitable audio interface or mixer and a suitable XLR cable. XLR operation requires that additional equipment. The manufacturer’s FAQ says 48V phantom power is not required. In XLR-only use, RGB and onboard knob functions do not operate as they do in USB mode.

What to consider before buying
- Choose USB if you want direct connection to a compatible computer and access to the USB-mode controls.
- Choose XLR only if you already have, or plan to obtain, a suitable interface or mixer and XLR cable.
- Check Maono Link compatibility and the software features available for your operating system and version.
- Confirm that a desktop stand suits your workspace; it can transmit desk vibrations and keyboard noise.
Practical limitations
Software noise reduction is software- and USB-related, not physical soundproofing. Microphone placement, keyboard activity, room acoustics, and surrounding noise still affect recordings or calls. For calls or streaming, start with placement and input level rather than treating software processing as a substitute for a quiet recording position. The desktop-stand selection is not the boom-arm bundle, and headphones, mixer, pop filter, and XLR cable should not be assumed to be included.
